Kinja'd!!!

Arg. Once again waiting on parts. The piece I’m waiting on (new handlebars for the project bicycle) was supposed to arrive Thursday.

Ordered Sunday.

Shipped Monday.

Lost in the system 3 hours and 9 minutes after shipping.

Three hours and nine minutes!

That must be a record or something!

Kinja'd!!!

And ignore that June 19th lie. That is clearly a digital band-aid USPS put on their tracking that automatically updates every day to “Everything is fine!”

This was it on Wednesday:

Kinja'd!!!

And then on Thursday it magically changed!

Kinja'd!!!

But ultimately hasn’t moved. So much so I no longer get the “expected delivery” banner. Just “Nah its cool man!”

At least it isn’t a $250 pulley I need to put my car back together...

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

And yes, as discussed in that post I realize USPS is seriously overworked and understaffed right now and my bike parts aren’t exactly medical supplies. The point of a rant is to make me feel better, not point out how huge portions of the population have much, much better things to worry about.

I ordered a backup on Thursday but it isn’t supposed to arrive until Sunday. However is ALSO shipped USPS so.... Time to order a third?

Nah if the 2nd falls through I’ll hit up the good local bike shop and have them set me up with a new stem and drop bars because fuck it.

Thank you for coming to my rant. Off to work on something else...

I feel your pain.  There’s some weirdness in how these packages get handled on the back end...  Any time I see “Smart Post” in my Seller’s tracking info?  I figure the package is going to sit somewhere, with no new tracking scans, for at least a week.

I can relate, although my problem is with UPS. Amazon sent me a spatula over a month ago. UPS tracking says it tried three times to deliver it and couldn’t, so it moved it to a pickup location. Now on each day they tried to deliver, we were all right here in the house. My work set up in the dining room is about 15 feet inline of site to the front door. I have a theory that the driver just didn’t try to deliver and took a break in his day instead and logged it as an attempt.

Now, I know the UPS pickup location, and it’s not wheelchair entry friendly. So, I asked the nice UPS man on the phone to try and deliver it again. That was week before last. It still says it’s being transferred to a location for delivery. I’m going to call Amazon and see if we can cancel the entire thing and have it sent back to them.

Wow that sucks. FedEx used to do that to us all the time. We call it the FedEx “it looked like you weren’t home so we didn’t bother”.

Yeah, and  the funny thing is, they leave stuff on the doorstep without even ringing the bell. So there shouldn’t even be an issue with someone being home this time. It’s a freaking spatula for my pancakes!

They seems to be struggling more than usual right now. I ordered at 35lb bag of doggo food on the 10th that’s shipping from Amazon’s Phoenix warehouse to Las Cruces that still hasn’t shown up. I could’ve carried it from Phoenix to Las Cruces in 10 (hot) days.

This is karma telling you that you should always be supporting your local bike shop.

When I can, I do.  They didn’t have flat bars.

Me too, I can’t get my roof rack situation figured out until I have some parts, I won’t know how I have to change anything until I see it on the car.

Sounds familiar. I’m thinking back to an order I did last month. There were two items, and one of them arrived in a week, whilst the other took 2.5. Like an idiot I ordered the same item again (the above tracking info) , from the same supplier, thinking that the ridiculous shipping time was an anomaly. Nope, and as before, no frigging clue when it’s going to arrive. Most of my online orders have been arriving in a reasonable amount of time, but this item is the exception. And if they weren’t 50% cheaper than everyone else I would have bought it elsewhere.
